Date: 05/10/2013 Deepskystacker: Kappa-Sigma (Kappa=2, Iterations=5) Name: The Seven Sisters - Pleiades - M45
Location: Watson's Way
Camera: Canon 40D   In all, the cluster is made up of about 100stars.  They were born together out of the same dark molecular cloud.  They are all blue, hot, and young - only about 78 million years old.  They are surrounded by nebulosity - little clouds of interstellar matter lit up by the intense radiation from the stars.  Although the Pleiades are presently grouped together, eventually they will drift apart, as happens with all open clusters.
